Charlotte Belote received a BFA from East Carolina University in both sculpture and painting. A teaching scholarship allowed her to pursue her studies towards a Masters Degree in Fine Art at University of Kentucky. She augmented her studies through several years work for the Historic Landmarks Commission of South Carolina where she led the painting restoration of the General Maxy Gregg House. Her love of restoration techniques and painting were born. Charlotte has combined these elements of architecture, painting and fine art into a business called Fine Art Finishes.

Her areas of technical proficiency include but are not limited to:

  • Faux Bois
  • Faux Marbre
  • Boiserie
  • Gilding
  • Distressing/Antiquing
  • Venetian Plaster
  • Decorative Techniques (Color Washing, Strié, Combing, Stencils and Metallic Paints)
  • Trompe L’oeil

She works primarily in and around Philadelphia, Boston, and New York City. Commissions have taken her from Florida to Finland and she looks forward to traveling at any opportunity. She is available to construct workshops or lecture to groups. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of these finishing techniques.
